I just kinda wanted to get some things off my chest and try to have some balance to the scrambled confused thoughts in my mind. I am from the UK but been living in this country with my King for nearly 3 years now.
In my country we don't have a gun culture, of course, we do to a certain extent, i'm not that naive, but I mean that guns are illegal in my home country, and our police don't carry weapons. We do have knife crime, and gun crime, and all the same kinda crime that happens in this country, but not as often or consistent. We are not acceptable of gun culture and it's not seen as something that would be accepted in the future. We have cameras everywhere on our streets, and maybe this acts as a deterrent, I don't know! I don't really know any of it, and can't make sense of it, but what I do know is that the behavior I have personally witnessed, but more, on tv and in the media is sooo disturbing.
I think the real root of confusion to my thoughts is why the police are able to kill unarmed people on a daily basis. I was listening to a report yesterday that stated ' within the last year, the US police have killed more civilians than the UK police has killed ever'! That really is quite a statement, especially when you take into consideration how old our country is in comparison, a disturbing, upsetting statement. Why is this going on? Why is this apparent on a daily and these killers are not fired, taken to court and locked up for however long the jury see's fit? Why is their no repercussion? Who is policing the police?
I find it truly upsetting every single day, turning on the tv, radio, or internet and seeing, hearing or reading about another innocent death. Of course, this is the only one that makes the headlines that day, and I know there is so much more happening every day that we never hear about. I don't expect anyone to be able to bring peace to my thoughts, and I am sure many of you share the very same questions as I have, but what happens next? What can we do as a civilian, an innocent civilian in this country? There seems to be a real lack of care by officials to tackle the issues, instead they are more bothered about closing down protests and the freedom of speech, letting the bad guys go free and coming down hard on the guy in the street.
So many innocent lives lost, so many people hurt and families destroyed, for what? I feel angered and upset by the lack of respect for the human race in this country, I know it goes on in other countries, but this is the one I am living in right now, and for a country that speaks so highly of itself and claims to be a fair, equal society, it sure as hell has an obscene amount of underlying hate and racism, so that quite frankly doesn't seem to be a country for the people!
This country needs to tackle the root of the problems of its society, and that is the POLICE!

I'm not sure it is very clear in what I am trying to say, and I am not really sure what I am trying to say, but all I know is that there are actions that sadden me deeply and it confuses me to the core that this behaviour goes on and a 'blind eye' is turned by the people who should be keeping it in check ya know?
